My name is Gregg Crawford, better known as the Gopher Guy around Sonoma County in Northern California. I met my partner, Nancy, 4-years ago. She’s from a ranch in Oregon and wanted to expand her interest of the outdoors, so I taught her (almost) everything I know. She is not as fast as me, but she is methodical and while I may set more traps per hour, she doesn’t let too many critters get through her sets. Nancy showed me that women can successfully trap as well. Nancy also teaches women how to trap in their own gardens.
My interest in trapping started about 9 years ago when I noticed a mound in my lawn. At the time, I didn’t know if I had a gopher or a mole. As a boy, I watched my grandpa set some Macabe traps. I guess I didn’t pay close enough attention because I couldn’t catch whatever was tearing up my lawn. The more different traps I set, the more damage I caused.
The following week, I attended a lecture given by a Master Gardener about a safe, non-toxic way of catching gophers and moles. The trap he used was called a cinch trap. I caught my first gopher the next day. Several friends had gophers eating up their gardens. I got some more traps and caught seven gophers that week. I was hooked. My first customer was President of the Sonoma County Grape Growers Association. Paul hired me to trap in his vineyard. I trapped 8 gophers in 45 minutes. I have since caught over 4,500 on his 16 acres. Word got out about me and so I started trapping in vineyards, then, golf courses, cemeteries, ranches, schools, and private residences all over Sonoma and Marin County.
With experience, I have learned all the possible ways to set the traps in all kinds of situations and the least time consuming ways to trap. I’ve invented an accessory tool that really takes the work out of trapping. There are many types of traps on the market; most arrive with written instructions for setting the trap. Until now, no one has produced a detailed video or DVD teaching how to trap. We want you to take control of your property. This DVD is well done and easy to understand.
I still go out trapping a half hour before sunrise and usually trap until noon or so. I’ve trapped 97 gophers in 7-hours during my best day. I use ATVs loaded with traps to get around on, and it is not uncommon for me to catch 30, 40, or 50 gophers in a day. I really enjoy the challenge of trapping.
Our mission is to provide the most effective mole and gopher trapping system on the market, and to provide our customers with concise practical information on damage identification and trapping techniques to allow for efficient eradication of mole or gopher problems whether it is residential or commercial.
Over 9 years of mole and gopher trapping experience has gone into the design and modification of our traps. We continue to operate a mole and gopher control service business in the Sonoma County Area making extensive use of our own mole and gopher traps in city parks, schools, golf courses, cemeteries, vineyards, orchards and private residences.
Our traps are designed with sufficient spring strength to kill moles and gophers consistently and humanely. Our traps will not lose power or trigger sensitivity. No maintenance is required. Hang them up in the shed until the next time you spot activity. You’ll know what to do.
We hope you will try our products. We know you will be satisfied.
